Coming from a long line of expert bricklayers, Mark Beam has carried on the family craft through his home construction business for over 40 years.

For over 50 years, our family has been living, working, and making memories in Fenwick Island. We genuinely want the best for this community as it flourishes and develops, while also keeping conservation of our beautiful beaches in mind. A former member of the Philadelphia Brick Layers Union, Mark's father, Harold Beam, managed large scale commercial jobs throughout his career such as Veterans Stadium and the Smithsonian. As a 14 year-old, Mark got his start in the industry by assisting his father in laying brick for their legendary Fenwick beach home, the "Red House".

Mark would go on to work for local contractors through his early twenties, including Charlie Zonko, with his involvement in a first real ground-up construction project being right on Oyster Bay Drive in Fenwick Island. Mark then ventured to Baltimore, gaining experience rehabbing and renovating historic row homes throughout the downtown area.

While in Baltimore, Mark met met his wife, Tami, and later returned to Fenwick Island, Delaware to start his business - Beam Construction, Inc. Mark knew there was no place he would rather settle down, start a family, and own a business than by the beach.

Mark leads Beam Construction and lands over 100 new home projects over the next 30 years in coastal Delaware and Maryland. He establishes lasting relationships with other subcontractors and vendors in the area, some of which Beam Homes still works with today.

As Beam Construction grew so did its relationships with the building community. While running his business, Mark took the opportunity to gain experience and scale his reach in the higher-end custom home market in Rehoboth, Lewes, and Dewey Beach through consulting with Lane Builders for five years.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, Mark’s daughter Amanda joined Beam Homes. From sketching floor plans as a child to working alongside Mark today, Amanda always knew that building was in her future. She brings fresh energy, a modern perspective, and is proud to carry the torch as a next-generation woman in construction.
